Rules & Regulations
Tournament Rules
- The tournament shall be played under the FIDE Laws of Chess, under the Swiss System with 9 rounds for all formats.
- Time Control: Rapid Tournament — 15 minutes + 3 seconds increment per move.
- Walkover Time – Rapid: 15 minutes.
- Tie-Breaks (in order):
- Buchholz Cut 1
- Buchholz All
- Sonneborn-Berger (SB)
- Direct Encounter (DE)
- Greater number of wins
- Number of wins with Black
- Prizes will not be shared. A player shall be eligible for only one higher cash prize.
- For age-category prizes, a player is eligible only for his/her respective age category.
- All prize winners must be present at the prize distribution ceremony to claim their prizes.
- The tournament organisers reserve the right to accept or reject any entry without assigning any reason.
Withdrawals
A player may withdraw from the tournament at any stage by informing the Chief Arbiter in writing.
Electronic Devices
All electronic items like mobile phone, tab, including wrist watches (call type watches), ear buds, headphones are not allowed in the tournament hall. Players found in possession of such items will be declared lost.
Discipline
Any player/parent who disrupts the decorum of the tournament will face exclusion from the tournament.
Eligibility
The tournament is open to all players, both rated and unrated. Foreign players are required to possess a valid FIDE ID (FIN) to participate in the event.
Protests
Any protest against the Chief Arbiter's decision must be submitted in writing with a protest fee of ₹2,000/- within 10 minutes of the incident. The fee will be refunded if the appeal is upheld; otherwise, it will be forfeited.
AICF Registration
Compulsory for 2026–2027
AICF Registration for the year 2026–2027 is compulsory. AICF Players Registration fee for the year 2026–2027 has to be paid before the start of the tournament. It will be accepted only through online mode. All players having active AICF 2026–2027 Registration can participate in this tournament.
Notes
- One player will get one higher prize money only.
- Prizes are not cumulative.
- Organizer's decision will be final & binding.
- All prize money will be transferred to winners within 7 to 20 working days after submission of required details in prescribed format.
Other Instructions
- The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and AICF rules.
- Swiss system will be followed.
- Participation is open to all Indian citizens.
- Registration will be confirmed only after payment.
- Organisers reserve the right to make any changes in the rules.
